This is not a review about playing Cards Against Humanity, it's a review of the fallout endured from playing Cards Against Humanity. Take it as a warning, if you will.

If you aren't a horrible person already, you will soon be. You will play Cards Against Humanity, and as others have said, you will be shocked, appalled, and worst of all, you will learn and adapt. You'll reach for your smartphone and search for terms you've drawn such as "The Übermensch", "Heteronormativity", and "The Three-Fifths Compromise". You will commit these and many other newly-learned words to memory.

And that's where it all comes crashing down.

At first, you might allow "front butt" to casually wander its way into a conversation here and there. As more of your subconscious fights to unleash the trauma, you'll find yourself uttering "nipple blades" and "mouth herpes" in the most unacceptable of times. You'll visit the Cards Against Humanity website and bomb them with suggestions for new cards like "Cutting the cheese at a funeral" and "Scissoring".

Soon, you will meet up with new people to inflict Cards Against Humanity upon them and they'll be hooked. You will receive random voicemails and texts, asking for another hit of that "8 oz. of sweet, Mexican black tar heroin", and you will comply, because you're just as hooked as they are. They'll bring new friends in to freshen up the game...you will feel a rush as the look of shame crosses their innocent eyes as they win a round by playing "Amputees" against your "White People Like _____".

"I was just throwing that card away!" they'll proclaim, but you know the sad truth.

You will buy the expansion pack. You will host parties where you play through every card in both boxes.Read more ›

Color: Matte

Bullets: Clear, easy to install, good price point
Anker gave me this product in exchange for my honest feedback, so I'll do my best to write an accurate, unbiased review.

I've had my share of matte screen protectors before, and many of them left a lot to be desired. Most of the cheap ones on early non-retina devices such as the iphone 3GS or ipad 1made the screen more blurry and harder to read. In that respect, the only thing that was gained was the fact that the screen needed to be cleaned less as dirt and fingerprints wouldn't show up much. These were probably first generation screen protectors, and at $30+ were expensive for what they were, so I stopped using them as a whole.
Fast forward to this product and it seems that both product and ease of installation have improved. The protector is vastly clearer than other protectors I've had before. Before, the only way to get a perfect installation of a protector was to go to a kiosky and pay the $30 to $40 and have them install it there. Now companies such as Anker are including install tools so that you can do it yourself. I always use lint free camera wipes to install screen protectors, but the inclusion of the small card to squeeze out the air bubbles really helps to insure a perfect looking install. The additional inclusion of the dust removal sticker sets this product away from other products at this price point.
Coupled with lifetime warranty and Anker's excellent customer service, this is an excellent product overall and especially given the low price point.

Size: 7-10 Inches Verified Purchase
Well I am simply surprised. I have 4-5 other netbook cases and this one is significantly better than all of them, for a lower price (a word on pricing later):

* The handles are the right thickness and "feel" - they aren't just webbing that seems like an afterthought and feels uncomfortable, they appear to be made of a thinner Neoprene style material with stitching on the "grab" area to create a nicely-formed, nice-feeling, handle. At first I thought there was a "stiffener" inserted in the handle area to give it more shape and "grippability," but apparently its just a good choice of materials and a well-executed design. You won't need any additional handle wrapper to be comfortable!

- I have another zipper case with a handle but would never feel comfortable carrying it by the handle around town. The handle is too flimsy to be comfortable and I don't trust the security of the construction/stitching. This AmazonBasics case is completely different. I feel like I can have my normal day back and carry this one by hand for quick and easy access on a commuter train or bus.

* The zipper, which runs only across the top and down each side about 2", is robust-looking - it isn't one of those "narrow gauge" flimsy looking zippers (technically, it is a "coil" not a "flat lock" design).

* As another reviewer mentioned, the zipper tabs are large enough to find and operate quickly and easily, and they are a "soft rubber" that feels good to the touch. One minor negative is the large "amazon basics" lettering on the zipper pull. Actually it is beginning to grow on me - yeah baby, I am too cheap (and too smart?) for Belkin or Built! (And got a better designed product.)

* There is NO zipper or "single stitch seam" at the bottom of the bag.Read more ›

Searching out mini covers, for me it came down to the Poetic Slim Line and the KHOMO Super Slim. They're both basically the same design, but I ordered the Poetic first, as it had a Green color that I liked. I ended up returning it because the Poetic came with a funky rotten fish like smell to it, that even after letting it air out for a couple of days, it didn't go away. So I ordered the KHOMO and have been very pleased with it.

I like that the KHOMO cover goes all the way around, protecting both the front and back of the mini. Apple apparently doesn't have a companion case available for the mini to go with their Smart Cover. But that's what I love about this case, is that the front and back are attached so the Smart Cover doesn't come off. My hubby had an Apple Smart Cover on his iPad 2, and while they're nice, in less than a year he had trouble with it falling off...almost like the magnetic connector was losing some of it's magnetism.
The case fits nice and snug on the mini.

All the cut outs for the buttons, charge port, speakers, camera and mic are nicely cut out and have plenty of room. They don't cover anything or make it hard to get to or use.

The Smart Cover is stiff, of course being new, but it only took about one week of daily use to get it broken in. At first, there was a gap between the cover and the screen (on the left side closer to where the cover attaches to the back case) when the cover was closed and it concerned me a bit, but I've been using this case for about 3 weeks now and that gap is starting to go away. I folded and squished that piece between the cover and the back case a bunch and it's helped to eliminate that little gap.

The triangle fold works great!Read more ›

Both were excellent quality materials and well made. Easily installed by lining up first and using painter's tape at bottom to make a "hinge" before removing the protective backing. Went on with just a few dust specks which were then easily removed using the included stickers.

I tried the anti-glare first. It does cut the glare and fingerprints are less noticeable, as advertised. But as you might expect, it does cut the sharpness of the display a little bit as well because it gives a "frosted" look to the display in order to achieve the anti-glare property. As you scroll a page, it looks as if it is moving below a layer of fine dust or dirt. It isn't horrible, but I found it distracting. It is a trade-off for less reflection and less noticeable fingerprints.

I ended up removing the anti-glare and installing the clear, again using the painter's tape method. Another easy installation, and this time perfectly clear -- looks like there is nothing on the screen at all.

Both are great products, my personal preference is the clear but it depends on your priorities and whether you are willing to give up a tiny bit of clarity to get the anti-glare properties.

Sophisticated charger
By Mike Tarrani HALL OF FAMETOP 50 REVIEWER on April 20, 2014
The review sample I received from the manufacturer packs a lot of features into a relatively small form factor. The face that houses the ports is slightly over an inch square, and the overall unit (not counting the spring loaded contact) is 2.25 inches long, of which a little less than an inch protrudes from your lighter socket. This makes it ideal for cramped spaces.

What is interesting is this charger is clearly designed for tablets and fast charging phones. While there are no 1.0 Amp ports the internal protective circuitry prevents the higher capacity ports from overcharging phones or devices that normally use lower capacity charging current.

This charger simultaneously fast charged an iPad 2 and Samsung Tab 3 10.1 in my test. Both devices were at approximately seventy percent when I started the test and both were fully charged in less than an hour in an operational vehicle. That is faster than any other charger that I own. Plus the charger itself remained relatively cool. Some I have tested get pretty hot during such tests.

A feature that I love is this phone glows when it's properly inserted into a lighter socket. Newer chargers use LEDs to do that, and one that I own is so bright at night that it's distracting. This one isn't - it's softer and actually functions as a night light of sorts in my vehicle's console. What I do not like, though, is the ports are not clearly marked. The only way to tell the 2.4 Amp port from the 2.0 one is to make sure that you insert this into your socket with the logo facing up. I would have loved tiny pinpoint LEDs of different colors next to each port to tell which is which.

Port identification notwithstanding, this charger outperformed most chargers that I have tested and was the [electrical] equal of the higher end ones. If you want safe, fast charging this is one to consider.

Perfect.

By Don Juan on November 12, 2014

Recently, I spent my hard earned money on a 13.3" Macbook Pro Mid 2012. I like to take care of my personal belongings, and this $1000 piece of machinery was no exception. So this began my search for a laptop sleeve. Wandering my local general stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc.) I noticed a cheap laptop sleeve (as in cheap quality) was nearly $16! I was like HECK NO! So I jumped on Amazon (btw amazon is the best shoutout to all the hard workers running this website and service) and searched a laptop sleeve. After approximately 9.24 seconds of searching I came across this gem. COULD IT BE?!?? An affordable, durable, and classy laptop sleeve for under $10. Being the educated consumer I started to read reviews. I came across a few that said: Laptop Didn't Fit. This was it, this was the end, I built it all up to let myself down. But being the poor High-School student I am, I pocketed some of my parents lunch money and ordered it. When it got here I opened the package. You know the scene in Star Wars when Darth Vader removed his mask? That's what it was like, shocking, but beautiful. I unboxed it and immediately took my laptop out of my backpack (which was stored in a nice soft tee-shirt previous to this sleeve purchase) and tried to slip it in the case. Wow. The sleeve fit like a glove.

If you have a 13.3" Macbook Pro Mid 2012, I highly recommend this product. It protects your laptop very well and snug. No other sleeve is as affordable, fashionable, and durable as this one.

OK cable, but slow for charging

By Rob W. on September 8, 2013
I do a lot of testing with various portable batteries and cables, and i have found this cable to do just fine with data transfer speeds at the expected USB 2 speeds, but find that its power transfer rates are quite sub-par.

The look and feel of this cable would lead you to believe its a good quality cable, but it doesn't charge like one. On a 1000 mA power source it will only pull 800 mA, i have occasionally seen it get a bit higher, but not consistently. A quality cable can allow all 1000 mA to a normal USB device like a phone. Even when upping the output source to 2000 or 2100 mA there is little change. USB Standards prevent a full 2000 mA through a USB cable, but most good cables will max out at 1200 mA based on my testing. Again this is cable sits tight around 800.
Overall this may not be something most people care about but it should be noted that it will caused longer charge times to your devices.

Excellent for the price, but with compromises
By lithos on May 11, 2015
This is excellent for the price, but at $500 one must expect compromises. It's got a lot of horsepower, 8 Gb of memory, and a huge hard drive. It even has an optical drive, which has pretty much vanished on newer machines. It's large, though, and can't be expected to compete with tablets or ultra-thins for portability. Since this lives by my couch, that's not an issue for me, and I do have a tablet with keyboard dock for travel. This even has a numerical key pad, which I much appreciate. The compromises are battery life (maybe 6 hours of constant use at best), the screen (the resolution is 1366x768, which is pretty low for such a big laptop, and the contrast is poor unless you tilt it back so much it wants to tip over), and the keyboard, which is very mushy and frankly sucks. It's got an i5 processor, which is very good unless you're a gamer, but it does all I need and does it quickly and well. One reviewer complained that the battery wasn't removable. It's in the usual position in the back of the machine and is held in with two screws, so I'd think it would be easily replaceable. The battery life isn't an issue for me, since as I said it sits next to the couch and the charger, and I can live with the screen. The lousy keyboard is the biggest negative for me and why I knocked off a star. Considering the price point, I'd probably still buy it again.

Great product, great content, and better than the InnoTab 3S

By DeepDive72 on September 9, 2013
I wanted to get my 5-year old daughter a tablet of her own. She likes watching movies and playing games on my iPhone, but that just seems like mindless entertainment for the most part. The app store has lots of content (perhaps too much!), and I did not have a way of determining which had real `educational' value and which were just fluff. So, off looking for a kids' tablet I went.

I was surprised to learn how many kids' tablet options there are, all in the $100-150 range - we looked into the Nabi's, the InnoTab, the Tabeo, the Kurio, the Contixo, etc. The reviews were generally pretty poor for all but the LeapPad and InnoTab products, so we bought one of each to try them out. We wanted to get the newest product available, so our comparison was of the LeapPad Ultra and VTech InnoTab 3S, which on paper are very similar - both offer WiFi, rechargeable batteries, a kid-safe browser, have a headphone portal, have a 2-way 2-pixel camera, etc. What follows is how we thought the 2 products compared, and not to spoil the surprise ending but we returned the InnoTab and LOVE the Ultra.

[As a side note, we got an early Ultra that had the software issue many have referred to here. As soon as we connected to the WiFi it corrected itself, but that was an issue for the first day we had the device.... I think LeapFrog could have handled that a bit better, personally.]

WHERE DOES THE INNOTAB 3S HAVE AN EDGE OVER THE ULTRA?
-Price, clearly - as the Ultra is an extra $50. This is the big one - if I wanted a device and had $100 to spend, feature-for-feature this is hard to argue with.

-The buttons are on the front of the device, which makes them more accessible and easier to use than the Ultra's, many of which are on the sides of the device.
